Gentleman when was the last time you checked out your “boys”?
There are regular messages for the ladies to get their “girls” checked with self-examination, doctors checks and mammograms, but when was the last time you heard about getting your junk checked?
There are several problems with the testicles and scrotum that we blokes need to be aware of and seek medical treatment if they occur, cancer being only one of them.
Epididymitis is caused by inflammation of the tube that rests along the testicles. Usually caused by sexually transmitted disease, or injury.
Hydrocele is a build-up of fluid around the testicles. It may not be painful or harmful but needs the doctor to check it out.
Testicular torsion occurs when the sperm cord gets twisted. This is a medical emergency and requires immediate attention within six hours, and even then, will not guarantee saving the nut.
Hypogonadism is a condition that results when the testicles do not produce enough testosterone. This results in problems like erectile dysfunction, reduced sex drive, infertility, osteoporosis, increased breast tissue, decreased body and beard hair, depression, fatigue, and hot flashes.
Spermatocele, is a fluid filled cyst. Small cysts do not normally cause pain, but large cysts can. Whether large or small the lump checked.
Plus, there are other problems I don’t have space to cover here.
So, blokes if you don’t have someone to check them for you, do it yourself. Do the check regularity so you know when a change comes, and don’t wait pretending it may get better. It is much better to get it checked by a doctor, and told nothing to worry about, than having the boys stored in a jar of formaldehyde on the shelf.
